2nd & 3rd December Premier League Betting Tips

Even quotes of 35/1 for a West Ham win at Manchester City can’t tempt me this weekend so, instead, we’ve tips for the other 3 televised matches: Chelsea vs Newcastle, Arsenal vs Manchester United, and Bournemouth vs Southampton.

Chelsea vs Newcastle (Saturday 12.30, Sky Sports)

Betting Guide: Chelsea 2/7, Draw 11/2, Newcastle 14/1

Newcastle have had their moments at Chelsea, mainly between 2009 and 2012 when they managed 2 wins and 2 draws. However, they lost the 7 renewals of this fixture before that run, and have lost 4 on the bounce since. Chelsea also managed to win 9 of those 11 matches to nil and, with them having won their last two home games to nil, quotes of even-money or slight odds-on look about right for them to win to nil again.

Arsenal vs Manchester United (Saturday 5.30, BT Sports)

Arsenal 17/11, Draw 27/11, Manchester United 2/1

Both teams have held the upper-hand in spells over the last few seasons, but Arsenal have won on the last two occasions United came to visit. The Emirates has also been something of a fortress this season, with Arsenal winning all 7 of their Premier League games, keeping 5 clean-sheets out of 6 since their opening 4-3 win over Leicester. Meanwhile, Manchester United have lost 2 of their last 4 away games. This is always a fixture that can go either way but, with Arsenal impressing at home so far, I’m happy backing them to maintain their 100% record.

Bournemouth vs Southampton (Sunday 1.30, Sky Sports)

Betting Guide: Bournemouth 2/1, Draw 23/10, Southampton 17/10

Not much between two sides who have recovered somewhat after poor starts to the season. Only two-points separates them in the League, whilst they’ve each won one of two previous renewals of this fixture. Bournemouth’s home record this season also suggests the match will be won by one team or other, with them recording 2 home wins and 5 home defeats, though Southampton have drawn two of their six away games, winning one and losing the other three. Not a match I’d want to get too heavily involved in but, as Southampton won last year’s game, they may be capable of doing so again after a spirited performance against Manchester City in mid-week.
